Host Families |
At Paws 4 Walking we are always looking for people to become part of our caring and professional team, to board dogs in their homes whilst their owners are away.
We offer you an opportunity to work from home and to enjoy the outdoor life, exercise and the sociability of dog walking.
Many of our host families are retired people who due to their lifestyle no longer wish to commit to a pet on a full time basis. Others are at home all day with children and can offer a busy family environment. Some work from home, work part time or work shifts. We have single people, young and old, and the one thing that they all have in common is a love of dogs. We only offer dogs that will suit your lifestyle and home.
As an alternative to boarding kennels you will be supplying your fellow dog lovers with peace of mind that their dogs are being looked after in a home from home environment whilst they are away.
We will deliver and collect the dogs and although we will keep in touch with you throughout the dogs stay, you can rely on Paws 4 Walking for 24 hour telephone support, 7 days and week.

Becoming a Host Family |
Pre-Requisites
- We ask that you have previously owned or have had experience of looking after dogs
- You will need to be over 21 years of age and at home most of the time
- The dogs cannot be left for more than 4 hours at any one time
- For Doggie Day Care the dogs must receive one walk each day
- For Dog Boarding the dogs must receive 2 walks a day, morning and evening
- You will require a safe and secure garden (which we must agree)
- We ask that you have somewhere warm and cosy for the dogs to sleep and that you provide the continuity of the dogs routine in the owners absence
- Your responsibilities will be to walk and feed the dogs as agreed with the owner and give them lots of love, fun and TLC
- You may already own dogs, however, you will only be considered if they are friendly towards others.
- If you have children or cats we would suggest you consider how they will be with dogs in your home

When you apply we will arrange an initial interview and home inspection. At this time, we will discuss what breed of dogs you are happy to look after and your availability. You will also only look after dogs from the same home at one time.
Once your application is successful, and you have been accepted by our insurance, as soon as we have a dog that we feel would best suit your criteria, we will contact you accordingly.
Once you have agreed to look after the dog(s), the owners may wish to meet with you and see where their dog(s) is going to stay. We will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient time for us to meet with the owners.
Following this, we will confirm arrival and departure times along with details of the dogs care requirements. A routine schedule, bedding, food, treats and toys will be supplied.
